Project "Beyond the Wall" - Orphanage Asen Zlatarov - 2 to 6 July 2010

The general idea is to allow youths to get involved in a social project, as well as to promote volunteering and cooperation on a local and international level. A project with social, cultural and pedagogical goals will be offered to 15 youths from Belgium, as well as several local volunteers, in the orphanage Asen Zlatarov in Haskovo. They will work together on the renovation of the building as well as on animation activities with the younger children of the institution. Discovering the other, intercultural communication and living together will therefore be at the core of this week. It is for these different reasons that we have chosen for this project the name “Beyond the walls…”,  as it will allow to make certain walls fall and discover certain realities beyond.

Objectives

-      

   -        -   Valorise volunteering on local and international levels, allowing youths to get involved in a social, cultural and pedagogical project

-         -  Encourage meetings, exchange and cooperation between youths from different countries, and who live different realities

-        -   Offer better living conditions for the development of the children in Asen Zlatarov.
